Delta Health-The Medical Center is a full service hospital dedicated to serving the Delta since 1953 with the mission of providing high quality medical services to the citizens and communities in the Tri-state Delta Region and to be a leader in providing needed support services to healthcare providers and patients to improve the health of the communities served. Our priority is to consistently provide the best and safest care to our patients and to ensure a sustainable presence in our community.
South Sunflower County Hospital is a 49-bed general acute care public hospital, with three Rural Family Practice clinics and a Surgical Clinic serving a rural population in the Mississippi Delta. It was established in 1939 to provide primary care to a diverse population. The Family Medicine Clinic is home of one of two family medicine practices in Mississippi that practices full scope OB/GYN. Our residents will have significant rotations at this site.

MSMERC, Inc. serves as the ACGME Sponsoring Institution. As well as its responsibility for academic oversight, it is also a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization responsible for assistance in garnering financial support. The Mississippi Delta Family Medicine Residency which is overseen by MS MERC is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) as well. The Mississippi Delta Family Medicine Residency recently received its Program Initial Accreditation (1202700561) from the ACGME Family Medicine Review Committee which became effective 07/01/2019. The faculty and staff will be experienced and highly capable educators who will lead our medical education mission and oversee the care provided by our medical trainees at all levels.
The Mississippi Delta Family Medicine Residency program's residents along with faculty physicians and staff will care for the whole person and family. They will not only treat your existing conditions, they will also work to prevent illness and strive to help improve your quality of life, achieve your wellness goals, and heal your body to live your best life possible.
